Eleven California campus news programs will receive 2023 Equipment Grants from the California Press Foundation to improve their production hardware and software.
A total of $15,100 will be distributed, with grant funding ranging from $750 to $1,500.
The grants go toward the purchase of new hardware or software, or for upgrades to
improve the quality of the publication’s content and delivery.
The recipients for 2023 are:
- Academy of the Redwoods-AR Argus, Eureka
- Aragon High-The Aragon Outlook, San Mateo
- The Branson School-The Blazer, Ross
- Cypress High-Centurion Spotlight, Cypress
- De Anza College-La Voz, Cupertino
- El Camino College-The Union, Torrance
- Granite Bay High-Granite Bay Today
- Inspire School of Arts & Sciences, Chico
- Ridgeview High-Pack News, Bakersfield
- Riverside City College-Viewpoints
- Washington Prep High-Photojournalism, Los Angeles
Sixteen campuses applied for grants. A panel of five Cal Press executives reviewed the
applications.
Applications for the 2024 Equipment Grants program will be accepted in Spring 2024.
