The postmark deadline to apply for the California Press Foundation’s Campus Equipment Grants program is Friday, May 13. Any California high school, college or university newsroom may apply.
The grants go toward the purchase ofnew hardware or software, or for upgrades to improve the quality of the campusmedia program’s content and delivery. Applicants must submit a detailed essay describing their current equipment, its limitations, why they need new or upgraded equipment and how that equipment would improve their publications.
There is no minimum grant amount. The maximum amount for a grant is $1,500. Winners will receive their grantawards by May 31 for immediate use.
Cal Press has issued equipment grants to more than 140 campus news programs since2000. Contributions from individual Cal Press members and supporters provide the grants.
