The California Press Foundation is pleased to announce the unanimous election of Sarah Jimenez to its Board of Directors. Sarah is the Director of Communications at Calbright College, where she leads efforts to expand access to higher education and workforce development for underserved communities.
With over 20 years of experience in strategic communications, Jimenez has worked across a variety of mission-driven organizations, using storytelling and values-based strategies to promote social change and advance public policy. Her expertise in shaping narratives has helped build trust and foster informed decision-making among diverse audiences.
"I'm honored to join the California Press Foundation Board, and collaborate with esteemed educators, journalists, and community leaders dedicated to supporting the next generation of journalists who are representing and telling the stories of California's diverse communities," Jimenez said. "Journalism scholarships and internships made my educational and career journey possible, and I'm excited to ensure more young journalists are supported."
Throughout her career, Jimenez has collaborated with professionals from various sectors, including communications, research, advocacy, and data analysis, to align efforts and advance policies and initiatives that support fair and just communities. She is passionate about ensuring all people have access to the information they need to make empowered choices and contribute to positive community outcomes.
